Multicellular Development, Self-Organization, and Differentiation

چکیده
This paper describes experiments performed using a multicellular test-bed, the Evolutionary Developmental System (EDS). The EDS is an objectoriented model of biological development designed for the study of 3D multicellular development and differentiation. Genetic regulatory networks are used to specify and control the construction of varied multicellular morphologies. The construction of these morphologies, from a single cell, using the symmetry-breaking mechanisms of cell signaling and asymmetric division is investigated. In addition, analysis reveals that multicellular differentiation emerges during the process of development.

The Evolution of Genetic Regulatory Networks for Single and Multicellular Development
Recently, researchers have recognised the benefits of learning from biological development in order to engineer self-organizing solutions to problems. Building upon previous work, this paper explores the application of the developmental metaphor to the problem of controlling single and multicellular development. In this paper, a summary of experiments performed using a multicellular test-bed mo...

Introduction: A successful society depends on coherent and successful families and it comes true when the choice of couples is made on knowledge. Marriage is a complex and delicate relationship between two human beings that plays an essential role in achieving the emotional, psychological, and physical needs of men and women; Therefore, the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of ...
متن کاملSelf-organization of Symbiotic Multicellular Structures
This paper presents a new model for the development of artificial creatures from a single cell. The model aims at providing a more biologically plausible abstraction of the morphogenesis and the specialization process, which the organogenesis follows. It is built upon three main elements: a cellular physics system that simulates division and intercellular adhesion dynamics, a simplified cell cy...
متن کاملStem cells as probabilistic self-producing entities.
Stem cells have the capacity both to self-renew and to give rise to differentiated progeny, and are vital to the organization of multicellular organisms. Stem cells raise a number of fundamental questions regarding lineage restriction and cellular differentiation, and they hold enormous promise for cell-based therapies. Here I propose a theoretical framework for stem cell biology based on the c...

Back ground: Although the cell differentiation is an inseparable part of development in multicellular organisms, the regulating molecular pathway of it still is not fully defined. In the other hand, apoptosis is a fundamental physiological process which plays an essential role in a variety of biological events during development. Moreover, recent studies have found that apoptosis shows several ...
